Mr. Bahaa Eldin Abou Shoka
Aside from being one of the most revered lawyers in the region, Bahaa Eldin Abou Shoka is also one of Egypt’s foremost politicians. He was a senior judge and a member of the Shura Council (upper house of Egyptian Parliament) until it was abolished in 2014 after the revolution. Today he is a prominent member of Egypt's new parliament, a role he manages alongside his highly successful criminal law practice.
With a Masters in Criminal Law from Cairo University, Bahaa Eldin is qualified to conduct court cases and arbitrations beyond Egypt's boundaries, in courts throughout the Middle East and the wider Arab world.
Bahaa Eldin is now Head of the Egyptian Parliament’s Legislative and Constitutional Committee, which is responsible for issuing new laws and amending existing laws within Egypt. He is also Head of the Values Committee of the Egyptian Parliament, Head of the Membership Panel of the Wafd Party and a member of the General Committee of the Egyptian Parliament.
